The Amazing Malta…

An All-Season Garment....

An All-Season Garment....

It’s landed; the floaty sleeves and wet-look tied styling of the Malta top has been well anticipated, and now that it is here it’s rocking out the door…  It’s one of those versitile garments that you can still pretend that it’s summer in, but layer it up over a Mesop basic layering piece (yep - they are here too) and you have a winter outfit in a jiffy.  Sue’s looking suitably glamorous in her purple one and the more neutral one above is sophisticated and sleek.  RUN!

The Louisiana Wrap is back…

Sable&Minx Louisiana Wrap... back in merino this year...

Sable&Minx Louisiana Wrap... back in merino this year...

It was a style that ruled last year and this winter Sable&Minx have brought it back in merino…  Go them - a must have staple garment that will layer up over just about anything.  We sold out last year and I am sure that this year will be just the same.  Run!

Another… month! How did that happen??

So, even two months!  How did that happen.  I’ll tell you how… I have just spent a blissful long holiday with my husband in glamorous, vibrant, dynamic Buenos Aires and a LONG LONG way from a computer.  Still, it is all over now and I am back in action and will try to be more diligent with my blogging!

It was a dream coming home to a shiny new collection laid out in store - and it has just started…  Now is absolutely the most exciting time of the season, with all the winter goodies pushing the last of the summer stock off the shelves.  Purple will be big this season, as will tunics and all manner of skinny pants and crazy tights…

Aruba Top - to end the summer and layer into the winter...

Aruba Top - to end the summer and layer into the winter...

We had the first of our styling nights last week and it was a great success.  Word has certainly travelled and we had a waiting list of customers who wanted to join but who we just didn’t have room for… I guess that means that the next one will be hot o it’s heals.  Stay tuned to the newsletters for dates…

Spotted in the Streets of Wellington

beer-can-dress

There is fashion and there is art.  And this is both!  Look closely - it’s beer cans!

And the coolest thing is - ok, there are two things…

a)This lovely lady tells me that she works for the Liquor Licensing Trust!! and b) she looks hot in it!

Where has November gone….?

Whew - November was manic.  And if I am honest, I am glad it is over - but also really proud of what we achieve here at deNada.  Yee ha - we are now have two stores humming!  The Petone start up went mainly to plan - it was just that the plan had a lot in it and so it took it out of us!  The store launched, Amilie got married and she and Luke honeymooned, we joined our new Jackson Street posse on a fashion show at the Speakeasy restaurant, we had a flash three day sale and I was a finalist in the Wellington Her Business Woman of the Year Awards.  Needless to say, poor Tomek has suffered from a lack of hot dinners but has been right beside me all the way.  My rock.

So, where to start…

speakeasy-show-6

The girls did us proud - it was a local event, attended by locals and modeled by - you guessed it, models and staff!  Jackson Street is booming and there is a whole lot of talent showing off down there so we were in good company. and had loads of fun.

The Her Business, Wellington Business Woman of the Year awards were held at the Intercontinental Hotel on the 4th of December.  I was a finalist in the Small to Medium sized Enterprises category and was in good company with Outsourced Office Limited and Pet Angels.  Congratulations to Pet Angels who also went on to with the Supreme Award.

It was a fun night of posh frocks, great company and fabulous nails (thanks to my team who got me sorted out before the do - five weeks of working non-stop had left them in a mess!)

And now Christmas is looming.  I am off down south to Wanaka where Tomek and I will have a lovely break with my Mum and some family friends.  And then roll on February where T-Dog and I will take on Argentina.  Yee ha - an adventure after five years of hard work and not much holidaying.  I now have such a great team that I am confident that me being on the other side of the world is do-able!

May the festive season be kind to you!  Cheers, Nada

img_0050It amazes me that women seem more uncomfortable with the tops of their arms than they do with anything else - bums, thighs, tummys.  I’m telling you - they would wear a cropped top before a shoestring strap!!  And so, for summer season after summer season now we have been hearing the plea for something stylish to cover the tops of the arms, and this is our reply… the Pryor Shrug.  With cotton Lycra cap sleeves draped with light weight merino (it is summer after all!!) here is the answer to the age old “but what can I wear with it” question!  They are racing out the door and only a few are left in black, but why would you anyway - when the red is this striking!

Yee ha… deNada Petone is go for launch!!

The Empire Grows...

Woo ho!!!  It’s a big step for deNada and we are as excited now as we were three years ago launching the Wellington store. deNada Petone is trading, looking hot and loving finding it’s feet in the supportive, dynamic community that is Jackson Street.

Just like central Wellington, deNada Petone boasts the strong styling and bold colours you have come to love, a boutique music collection and the same outstanding stylistic advice that will help you find an outfit that will flatter your fabulous body.

And the lovely Amilie has moved on up - from second in charge in Wellington to managing Petone. Lucky Petone-ites; Amilie is a stylist extraordinaire and will be more than happy to help you find a deNada outfit that will make you feel FABULOUS!!

We will be toasting the new pad on Wednesday 11th after work.  Come on down, have a glass of bubbles with us and check out the launch day specials that we will line up for you on the day.

The empire grows…

Windows… at sight to behold!

Ethereal Experience...

Ethereal Experience...

We love dressing our windows - it is always fun to watch someone hurry past only to be stopped in her tracks, back track and drool over whatever beauty is sparkling up the front of our store.  They are impossible to photograph - unless of course I am passing at midnight when the sun don’t shine and the reflections don’t glare.  Hey ho.  I rather liked, though, the ethereal nature of the Japanese birdcage inside and the world passing by outside.

An apple for your Eye...

An apple for your Eye...

Each day I walk to work down Cuba Street and bow to the  master of shop windows, Hunters and Collectors.  Today it was me who was stopped in her tracks and I just happened to have my camera under my arm, so lucky you also gets to taste this genius treat!.

Laika has landed

Hair optional!

Hair optional!

Wow - we are speechless.  It was worth the wait, and now that it is here, the new Laika collection is literally stopping people in their tracks as they walk past Kerri and Amalie’s dramatic window featuring amongst other life-changing garments, this Chimera Dress.

We have not bought very much of it and we won’t have a chance to buy more.  Run.

Signed and No Turning Back….

Bring on store number two… Petone, Early November.  Yee ha.

We’re signed, ready and can’t wait!!
